Volunteers play an important role in Hakone Gardens' success, and you’re invited to contribute your time and skills. Volunteers assist as docents throughout the year. Docents provide tours of the gardens for school groups, garden clubs, corporate groups, and many other groups. Hakone's success depends on dedicated volunteers.
Others help in the gardens, gift shop, or office. Many special projects also benefit from volunteer assistance. For example, volunteers in the garden helped restore various wood and bamboo substructures—such as bridges, wooden lamp posts around the pond, the well, main gate, and fences that lead up to the gardens.
